Things to Do When You Feel Blue – Dealing With Mild Depression

Dealing with mild depression and its symptoms.

Mild depression is often referred to as “feeling blue”. You may or may not know the source of your sadness, but are aware that it’s disrupting your life in one or more ways. You may feel more tired than usual or not want to do activities that you usually enjoy participating in. Problems concentrating may appear and you may wonder when you’ll ever feel joyful.

You Are Not Alone

Whatever symptoms you’re experiencing as a result of your mild depression, know that you’re not alone. Many people “feel blue” and that number often rises during the colder weather months of the year when the days are short and the nights are long.

Here are some very effective ways of dealing with mild depression:

  • Make self-care a priority. Get really good at learning what your body and mind enjoy, and what helps you feel at ease. Then, take time out of your busy schedule to tend to your needs. Concentrate on the areas of your life that you have the greatest control over first. Nourish your body with healthy foods, water, movement, or rest.
